Vinyasa

Vinyasa flow is an energetic style of yoga, synchronising breath with movement. Vinyasa, translated from Sanskrit literally means to place in a certain way, reflecting the mindful attention given to the body as you move on the mat with intention. My classes are fun, playful, linking the body and breath; you will come away feeling connected, energised, open and balanced.

I had been practicing Jivamukti yoga for over 10 years and I am grateful for the discipline and the depth of spiritual practice it has given me. Completing my teacher training in vinyasa has cultivated a deeper self-awareness and opened up my approach to yoga to incorporate a variety of styles and techniques.

Yin

Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice where each pose is held for around 3-5mins or more. This process stretches and lubricates the connective tissues in the body, encouraging flexibility and tissue health. It also improves the quality and mobility of qi or energy flow in the body, a belief derived from Chinese Meridian theory in Chinese Medicine. In the same way that acupuncture and massage can target specific areas of the body to stimulate the flow of qi, Yin can be an incredibly powerful tool to promote organ health, healing the body in a more natural way.

This practice is the opposite of a Yang practice (ie. such as vinyasa) and it is highly recommended to practice Yin along side vinyasa to bring the body back into balance. As someone who is half Chinese, you can imagine, this practice is something close to my heart.

Mindfulness Meditation

Managing stress, improving relationships with others, building compassion, presence, gratitude and peace: these are just a handful of the benefits of meditation. I have a variety of creative methods I use which include breathing techniques and visualisations; so even when meditation may not come easily, I have confidence we can find something that works for you.

Recently, I have collaborated with Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London to create a series of meditations for their online wellness platform, especially designed for staff during this challenging period.

Aromatherapy Yoga

After a longstanding fascination with herbs and natural remedies I collaborated with the Lyon School of Medicinal Plants and created a dynamic yoga class tempered with some specifically designed essential oil blends to enhance energy, focus, surrender and and relaxation for an overall blissful yogic experience.
